WRITING; "Describe the cultural sites" for KIBI Refresher "A" 01/07

Dear students,
Following the surfing on the www.ditc.net.au site particularly the AUSTFAMIL Discussion Board, I would like you to "follow" one of the most favorite postings that you think easy and bright to guide you to create "another version" of it.
This is not an immitating activities, this is a matter of making ourselves getting used to practising good and well organized essay. As such, will help us improving our "natural" writing styles that mostly sound Indonesian.
Well, that is correct that at the beginning we "follow" but after that we will show the audience that we can create our own natural and automated mode of writing style soon.
Happy experimenting folks!

Dear Mom...

How Are you today? Hoping God bless you with happiness, healthy and prosperity.

I want to tell you about my fantastic trip to Borobudur temple yesterday. It's about 30 minutes from my base. I went with the group of 22. Borobudur is one of the temples you must to visit in your holiday plan next year, I recommend you to come. You will see the specific characteristic of two hundred year old temple. The Ancient style in Buildings, statue and historical places around.

The most impressed one you can not leave is the visit to the journey to the top of the temple. Can you feel how the king standing there in the past. You don't need to worry cause you will accompany by the friendly guide. He will please to answer all of questions you may have.

I went to the Souvenir shop near the temple and I bought a souvenir for you mom, very special one, i let you guess...

For me, Borobudur very impressing and also you can feel the kindness of the people, the ancient costumes, culture and buildings you wouldn't find in another place and the experience of the temple tour. Nothing I least from the part of it i think, cause I really enjoyed the trip. I promise you to accompany here next year, mom.

Oke mom,I'll write to you again as soon as possible. I can not wait to show you the pictures, it's still in the printing process.

Take a good care, mom. Don't forget your medicines, especially your vitamin...I miss you so much...

love & care always

Hello Comrades,

I am in Jakarta now, pretty much enjoying my stay although the weather is always cloudy entire the day.

I just want to tell you about our visit to Mangga Dua Square last week.
At first, I was surprised to see the food court on the UG floor which is quite different from the typical food court in any other mall in Jakarta. I think it is just like a food court in a traditional market with modern atmosphere. Moreover, the price of the foods sold there was really reasonable. In short, you can enjoy eating delicious healhty food in a comfortable modern place with a compromized price.
Besides the food court, one thing that amazed me the most was the Computer Supermarket at the 1th and 2nd floor. The supermarket is not only coloured by a wide variety of desk top, lap top, and its accecories but also designed in a modern minimalist way which make it a definitely convinience place for shopping or just sightseeing.

Well, I think the management of this mall is very advanced, therefore they look very well organized and convenience to visit.

Friends I think you should also visit the Mangga Dua Square someday when you get the chance to come to Jakarta.

Bye for now,

Hi Alimi,

Iam still here at Pusdiklat Bahasa Dephan having a wonderful time and adjusting well to the new climate and environment and the staff are just awesome. It's a great priviledge having to come here and meet up with other students from Asia-Pacific region, such a wonderful peer group.

Anyhow, we went on a field trip today to Bandung, it was about 2 hours bus trip, and visited Dago Pakar Hill. It is a living museum representing heritages of Dutch colonial's and Japan troop's caves from 18th centuries. In other words, it was a hiding caves and bunkers for prissoners, in fact, evidently Dago Pakar itself was a National forest with beutiful landscapes.

The highlight of the visit that got to my attention was that the air so fresh along the way, then I saw Maribaya waterfalls at the end of the way from Dago Pakar. Furthermore, the forests, river, tracks, creeks and many more are still in natural live. To put your imaginations in place, recall our childhood in village.

Afterwards we visited the Tangkuban Perahu mountain and were taken on a spectacular tour by the tour guide. We were also given the chance to riding a horse around and take some pictures.

Well, you should find time to come to Bandung sometime, and if you do, I recommend that you visit Dago Pakar and see for yourself the facinating living wonders.

Take care and Bye for now

Dear Friend,
On wednesday we left Pusbasa and went to Monas. We had visited to national park, national museum but we were just in car (window tour), Major Totok and Samy (driver) on the way to Monas told and saw us the information about the park and places where were visited. it was very intersting for me and I enjoyed it ver much.
When we arrived at Ancol we went in and one of the Ancol staff took us and saw everything in Ancol and told us the information about it. We took many pictures about Ancol because everything in it has history and also very intersting for me. At midday we had lunch at a traditional restaurant. After that, we went to Wildlife park "Ragunan" and saw very intersting animals which we never see before. One of the staff at Wildlife park told us the backgraound of each animals and it was interesting.
On way back to DITC we had stop for 10 minutes in Roadside Fruit at Pondok Labu to saw local fruit like apples, oranges, bananas and other fruits.
The window tour which we did yesterday was very interesting and I enjoyed it very much because I can see many places in Jakarta.

Dear friend.....
I am very greatfull to be sent to Pusbasa, i enjoyed my stay and a chance to get such an education here. Though i have a difficultes to deal with the weather wich totally different from ours, but it's worth more than a million for me to joint with the course. i
In order to enhance our languages, the institution make a kind of regulation which forbid all the students for using their own languages. It's not only funny but also challenging because everybody speak with their own dialect which has a totaly different pronounciation, therefore it's a bit difficult to catch the idea, but it's still acceptable for us.
I'd like to tell you about the "Journey" to Jakata fair in Kemayoran, it's not about the place but about the time we have to spent in order to releave our curiosity with this occasion. They said, the trip will take not more than an hour but the fact..... it was take more than 2 hours from pusbasa to the site, moreover we have to wait more than an hour just to find a parking lot, can you imagine that???
I think I'm running out of time so I shall continue on another mail. See you soon....

Dear My Friend

Today, i will tell you about my impression on Pusbahasa Dephan,Trip which I did yesterday,It was Wonderfull,Last day, I got up later so I missed my breakfast. quickily i made a pack of instant porridge and an a glass of milk. After having breakfast, we departed from Juanda international airporrt at 8.00 o'clock with Boeing 737 400 series Adam Air. The stewardes of Adam Air was very helpful, friendly and also preety. They serve passanger very well. When arrived in Soekarno Hatta International airport Jakarta i feelt the temperature is high its not different with Surabaya, then i used shuttle bus to Lebak Bulus Bus Station, its not surprised in Lebak Bulus Bus Station because every thing look like in Surabaya Bus station, after that i used taxi to Pusbahasa Dephan

Yesterday, i had a trip in one of the famous tourist spot of Jakarta, Ancol Bay City.

Ancol Bay city is a hour trip by car from Pusbahasa.Im toured first the Sea World, looking for some Sea Animal of the tropical species in the area. The view of sea animal indicates how important we know abaut sea animal conservation.

Then i proceeded to Ancol Dream Land,When i entered the place, I can amazed of how interesting place looks like. I cant believed it that im actually seeing it in my own eyes, places that I've only seen in TV. The place was so Crowded but so interesting.i also try to used all the games in Ancol Dream Land, one of the most interesting games is halilintar jet coaster, that game were i try so amazing and it will be my best experience in Ancol Dream Land. Before i left, I buy some souveiner, serving me as remembrance that I was once in that beautiful part of the earth.

After taking our lunch, then i proceeded to Ragunan Zoo. It was there that I experience the nature. I saw, feel and with animals that I only oftenly saw in books and posters. Some of the animals such as Monkey, Kakak tua bird and elephant are so tamed that you could actually touch and play with them. It was so amazing to see those wild life.

We ended the day very very satisfied, not feeling fully satisfied because I felt that I needed more, maybe wanting more time to explore the beauty of Jakarta.

If you happen to be on Jakarta, I encourage you to visit Ancol Bay City for you to experience how happy a man be.

Regard

FOR MY LOVELY WIFE IN SURABAYA
Dear honey,
I feel happy now because my dream to joint the english course in Pusbasa Hankam come true.
I hope that everything just fine until i finished my course.
In Jakarta, i am visited some interesting place specially the shopping centre just to have a windows shopping and flirting at some

beautifull girls.
However, there is no such lovelly one likes my honey bee.
Last week we go to Mangga dua Square, in that place i got new experience about shopping centre.
The concept of this mall is one stop shopping, furthermore we can find anything we need just in one place.
The most interesting is the food corner, it just like the china town street altough it is in one big supermarket.
At this food corner we can find many delicius food with cheaper price.
Actually, my aim to go to this supermarket is looking for notebook that will support my course, however the cost of notebook is reasonable

enough and because of that i bought one notebook that i comforttable with.
Other interested experience that it is the first time for me to ride in busway, and it is feel convinience.
Altough the journey is fun, but without you and our son company my trip it is seem like something is missing.
I hope when the course is over we can spent time together.

BYE, DEAR......

Dear Dan,
This is my 3rd week in Pusdiklat Bahasa Dephan which means another week to go before my target course. It is an enjoyable course which give me the opportunity to learn English.Initially I am very much homesick but with my friends around from various units like Air force and Naval it makes me feel at home.

We had a field trip to Jakarta International Expo yesterday, visited a couple of stands. The Jakarta Fair was held o 14 June till 14 July placed in Kemayoran ,Jakarta. The most interesting part was when we visited especially the flying balloon because its can flew 10 meters above ground level. It is just amazing to see Jakarta from the top of Jakarta.

There's a lot to tell about Jakarta International Expo and it might take the whole writing to you which I know you dont have the time for that. Anyway dont forget to visit The Jakarta Fair if you happen to be in Indonesia or Jakarta in particular. Send my best regards to others in our office. See you later.

Dear Mr. Kisha

I have read your last posting about Borobudur temple that you have just visited. To be honest, I am really impressed by your story. But I have one question for you. You wrote " ...You will see the specific characteristic of two hundred year old temple...". Are you sure? I have ever read that Borobudur temple was built by King Samaratungga, the most well known king of Ancient Mataram Kingdom, in the year of 850 AD. How do you think? Thanks in advance.

Your sincerely

Dear Wife,
This is my first time to Bali as well as Jakarta, i felt as i was dreaming when i arrived at Bali's airport becuase I didn't know any poeple in this city.
However,Denpasar looks like my second home to live, although, the weather is alittle bit hot,it is not terrible as some ones said before.I felt very fit in my physical, because I have usaully done excercises wherever i want inside or outside the Gym. Two weeks in Denpasar, I have learnt much things such as Bali's cultures, their discipline, food and songs. I like eating, working, walking around and so on in this city.

Yesterday, my classmates and I went to visit Sanur beach which is one of the interesting place to go about 70 or 80 kilometres from Denpasar. We arrived there at 09:00 am ,continued swimming and taking pictures in order to send them for you .
There, our guide took us to have a look at the gold in underground that was found by an old and unpopular man in 1910.
I will still keep contact with you honey. Send kids my warm hugs and kisses.Thank you and
see you next time .

Dear My Lovely Girl,
I'm doing well and things are going great since I arrived in "Pusdiklat Bahasa" for joining English language course. I met a lot of friendly mates in my class from different units of Indonesian defence force. It broadened my mind about Indonesian defence force. I had some new informations from them which are very useful for my carrier.
Last week, I did not visit you in Jogja because I had to attend wedding invitation at Puri Ardhya Garini, Halim Perdanakusuma, Jakarta. My friend, Purbo married with Tina. It was a great party and it was attended by many officials from headquarter because they both came from air force families. I guessed they held their marriage with so many efforts and fund.
Today, I still have class program to attend. Hopefully, it will be finished at 15.00. After that, I will pick up the first train to Jogja. I miss you so much honey.

I have read your story about your trip to Borobudur temple.
Unfortunately, there are some comments that I should delivered to you.
"It's about 30 minutes....". I suggest you to write,"It takes about....". I think it is more common, furthermore, it makes stylish advanced writing.
Have a nice writing bro'.
